Hartford Avenue East will be closed between Bellingham Street and Cape Road (Route 140) on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 17-18 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the highway department conducts milling and paving work. Traffic will be detoured onto Bellingham Street.

On Wednesday, Bellingham Street will be closed to through traffic from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. while workers lay a topcoat on the road surface, which was rejuvenated in June. Traffic will be detoured onto Hartford Avenue East. Traffic on Bates Street will be allowed to travel through the Bellingham Street intersection.

The Mendon Police Department is advising motorists to allow additional travel time and to use caution around work zones.
