Why did you decide to run for reelection?
Continue to serve my community and encourage others to serve in the future.
What professional or volunteer experience do you bring to this role?
I work on being consistent and I’m involved in long-term commitments.
Please describe other activities you’ve been involved with in Mendon or elsewhere, including any other elected or appointed positions.
Living with the Ribbon Foundation director, Mendham Brothers of the Brush-scholarship chair.
What values guide your public service?
I value face-to-face interactions, respect for others’ opinions and reflect on the Boy Scout Law often.
How do you make decisions when there’s no perfect option?
The board works as a team, after listening, investigating and much discussion respectively vote on an issue.
How do you define the mission of the Board of Health in a small community?
To help assist residents, business owners and contractors comply with the rules and regulations through education and coaching
What is your approach to handling complaints about housing, food establishments or septic issues?
We have a very qualified administrator, health inspector and engineers to make the first evaluation and relay information and recommendations to the board for discussion and resolution.
What is your view on regionalizing certain health services (e.g., nursing, inspections, emergency preparedness)?
We currently network and are active members of the Blackstone Valley Collaborative and will continue to build relationships to provide services and assistance to our community and its neighbors.
What’s your proudest accomplishment as a Health Board member? (Identify & explain).
Helping Mendon through the Covid 19 pandemic by volunteering at clinics and knocking on neighbors doors to get vaccinations for those that wanted them.
Mendon Commons sent questionnaires to each of the 13 candidates running for town office in the May 19 election. We are publishing the responses through today, May 18.
