Mountain Hiking: Getting Started and Staying Safe
Mountain hiking is a wonderful way to experience the beauty of nature, get great exercise and enjoy the sense of spiritual renewal that comes from spending time outdoors. If you’ve always wanted to try mountain hiking but weren’t sure how to get started or what to bring, this program is for you!
Join EARTH Board Member Brad Fenn as he shares the essentials of mountain hiking. A former hike leader for the Appalachian Mountain Club, Brad has extensive hiking experience throughout New England, across the U.S. and internationally. He’ll offer practical tips and guidance to help make your hiking adventures both enjoyable and safe.
Topics will include the 10 essentials, navigation, hiking gear and equipment, trail etiquette and safety, and recommendations for hikes suitable for different experience levels.
Whether you’re new to mountain hiking or an experienced hiker looking for a refresher, join us at the EARTH Nature Center for an informative and engaging discussion that will help you feel more prepared and confident on the trail. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with others who share an interest in hiking, nature and spending time outdoors!
